Marion Poschmann nominated for the Man Booker Prize 2019
On March 13 the Man Booker International Prize has announced the 13 novels nominated for the 2019 edition, celebrating the finest works of translated fiction from around the world.
Marion Poschmann has been selected with her novel Die Kieferninseln - The Pine Islands (Suhrkamp Verlag). Bompiani are publishing the Italian edition in April.
Die Kieferinseln was already shortlisted for the Deutscher Buchpreis 2017: it was a bestseller for Spiegel, Focus, Stern and Börsenblatt, with more than 50.000 copies sold!
The jury says: »The Pine Islands is a serene, playful, profoundly moving story of the transformations we seek and the ones we find along the way.«
The shortlist will be announced in April and the ceremony will take place in London on May 21.
Last year's prize was awarded to our Anna Burns and her novel Milkman, sold to Keller Editore in Italy.
