Österreichischer Buchpreis goes to "Die Forelle"
We are pleased to announce that Leander Fischer won the Österreichischer Buchpreis 2020 in the Best Debut section with "Die Forelle" (Wallstein).
Already selected by ORF in October as the best book of the month, Die Forelle (The Trout) tells us about an entire world where themes such as art, imitation, environment, society and politics unfold. An entire world where the Nazi past casts its shadow to the present day. From the jury’s motivation:
“Die Forelle is the exact opposite of the plain, unadorned prose that prevails in contemporary literature. And that’s exactly what makes it such a stimulating reading”.
